Illinois Public Radio: Illinois Businesses, Farmers, Officials React To President’s Announcement on Cuba

Founding partner William Delaney interviewed by Illinois Public Radio about how the changing diplomatic climate in Cuba will affect Illinois businesses. Through his role as Chairman of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce’s International Business Council, Delaney hosted an event in conduction with the Illinois Cuba Working Group back in May where he stated “easing trade restrictions with Cuba will expand opportunities for Illinois business, provide a boost to the economy and create new jobs statewide.” For event details please click here.

President Obama’s announcement that the U.S. will start talks on normalizing relations with Cuba includes plans to allow more exports to that country.  Some say that could offer new opportunities for Illinois farmers and businesses.
One of those people is William Delaney. He chairs the International Business Council for the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, and reacted positively to the possibility of greater exports to Cuba being allowed.
“The impact would be direct, immediate and hugely beneficial for the state of Illinois.”
